You are bidding on a 1970s Aurora Thesi Vintage Original, Ecosteel Ballpoint Pen – Italsider. This pen is in mint/unused/new condition and it is extremely difficult to find this particular pen in such great condition. Comes with a working refill installed.
The Aurora Thesi was designed by the famous Italian architect Marco Zanuso (who also designed the Aurora Hastil) and is one of the few modern(ish) pens to be on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as a significant example of Italian creative design.
The Aurora Thesi is an ultra-flat ballpoint that features an oblique end with a differentiated non-slip satin finish and polished borders. It features a clever push-slide mechanism and a one-touch retractor button to pull the writing point. Since its launch in early 1970, the Thesi has been offered in various finishes, including sterling silver, gold, lacquer, etc., but the original Ecosteel continues to this day to be the most sought after.
I’ve actually got one of these myself…it has great functionality, but the “cool factor” of this pen is off the charts with the way it looks and all the mechanisms it has. Even the refill pops out with a smooth popping mechanism.
